The building division oversees the safety of buildings by reviewing plans and conducting inspections to ensure compliance with the building codes adopted by the city.

Do I need a Permit?
If you are unsure whether you need a permit, please email us at permits@taylortx.gov before starting your project.
Proceeding without the required permits may result in fines.
Applying for a Permit
The City of Taylor uses an online system called My Government Online (MGO) for permit applications, tracking, and inspection requests. All communication for your permit will happen through this website. Click here to visit MGO Connect Customer Portal to Apply and Pay Online.

Contractor Registration
Register Online
Contractor Registration with the City of Taylor is free of charge. Instructions on how to register are found in this handout link.
Inspections
Requesting Inspections
All inspection requests must be completed online via MGO Connect Customer Portal to Apply for Inspections.
Inspections must be submitted by 3pm to guarantee the next business day service.
