Water and Waste Water Utility System

The City of Taylor provides sewer service to over 17,779 residential and commercial customers. A sanitary sewer system of over 110 miles of pipe conveys an average flow of 1.6 MGD (million gallons per day) to the wastewater treatment plant.  The City owns and operates the Mustang Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant and is permitted by the TCEQ to discharge treated wastewater, TPDES PERMIT NO. WQ0010299001.

For emergency water leaks and sewer problems call 512-352-3251. This telephone number is answered 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Licensed and certified staff are on-call at all times to handle problems and maintain the distribution system in an efficient manner.

Free Chlorine Burn

The City of Taylor public water system will temporarily convert the disinfectant use in the distribution system from chloramine to free chlorine. The conversion will begin on December 3 and continue through January 6.

During this period, residents in Taylor may experience taste or odor changes associated with this type of temporary disinfectant conversion.
