Donald R. Hill
About
Donald R. Hill has served as the District 1 Representative continuously since 1986 and as Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem often during his tenure on the City Council. He has been successfully elected for eight consecutive terms with his current term expiring in May, 2013. Mr.Hill is a lifetime resident of Taylor, a 1956 graduate of Taylor Public School, and has gone on to receive continuing education from Clark Atlanta University. He served in the United States Marine Corps where he attended NCO Leadership Classes.
Mr. Hill and his wife Leslie have four children and five grandchildren. Mr. Hill has served on numerous city and school boards and local committees since 1969 including the City Planning and Commission for twelve years, and as the President of Blackshear O. L. Price Ex-Students Association for ten years. Mr. Hill has been a Prince Hall Mason for over 47 years and served as Worshipful Master for 26 years. He also served as the President of the Texas Municipal League Region 10 and on the TML Board of Directors and continues to remain active in CAPCO. Mr. Hill is a member of the Texas Association of Black City Council and a lifetime member of the Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church in Taylor where he has served as Pro Tem Chairman of both the Trustee and Steward Boards for many years.
Mr. Hill founded and organized the United Counties Federal Credit Union and has served as an officer or chair for over twenty years. Mr. Hill is currently employed as the Director of Field Operations with the Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS).
