City Hall and Library are sites of free tax preparation sessions


Beginning Wednesday, January 24, United Way of Williamson County will have IRS-certified preparers on site at City of Taylor facilities for the benefit of senior citizens and those with household incomes of less than $54,000 per year. City Hall will host the free tax preparation sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and the preparers will be at the Taylor Public Library on Wednesdays starting February 7. The schedule is as follows:

Taylor City Hall, 400 Porter St. -- January 24 to April 16

Mondays:  4:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Wednesday:  4:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Saturdays:  9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Taylor Public Library, 801 Vance St. -- February 7 to April 11

Wednesdays:  Noon to 4 p.m.

What to Bring:

  • Photo ID for taxpayer (and spouse if married filing a joint return)
  • Married filing joint return:  Both individuals must be present to complete the return (required)
  • Social Security card and/or ITIN cards for taxpayer, spouse and all dependents listed on the return (required)
  • Identification number for child care provider and receipts
  • 1098-T tuition statement for college and technical school students and relevant record of higher education expenses
  • Interest and dividend statements from bank / savings accounts
  • Receipts for mortgage property taxes or interest
  • Form 1095-A, B or C or Affordable Healthcare Statements
  • Account and routing numbers of your financial institution (for direct deposit of any refund)
  • Last year's tax return (if you filed)
